Message From The Head of School
Welcome to Stanbridge Academy!

For over 27 years Stanbridge has been educating students in grades K – 12 who have mild to moderate learning differences. We take great pride in our unique program that is comprised of four components: academics, social and life skills, experiential learning, and extracurricular/community activities.
Our academic program is aligned with the California standards and is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. Because our class sizes are quite small, maximum is eight students to one teacher, we are able to easily differentiate curriculum to meet the individual needs of our students.
We value the social and life skills curriculum we have in place for all our students. Students have many opportunities for social interactions and are guided and supported on a regular basis.
The experiential component of the curriculum is an integral part of Stanbridge. These day trips and overnight adventures are directly related to the academic concepts being studied in class and provide meaningful opportunities for personal growth.
After school clubs give our students chances to involve themselves in a personal interest, and community service activities allow them to contribute time to build a bridge to the local community.
“Building bridges” is a term we have been using a lot this past year. More than just a motto, this is a constant reminder of Stanbridge’s philosophy – that we are teaching our students not only how to be successful academically, but to be socially and personally successful beyond the classroom as well. Ensuring this success requires teamwork, as the bridges being built must span between students, faculty, parents /guardians and beyond.
Please take the time to preview our new website and note the many links that provide detailed information on all aspects of Stanbridge – from our school’s history to the comprehensive programs we provide. We welcome you to tour our campus and see for yourself the bridges we build, and what makes Stanbridge such a wonderful place!
