Hello again. We are midway through September and after a quiet week of school, things are starting to get a bit busier. With the postponement of the Yosemite trip for high school seniors, our fall experiential trips begin this week as the Lower Elementary students are scheduled to go on two day trips: The Marine Science Institute on Tuesday and Phipps Country Farm on Wednesday. Wednesday the 18th is also the day that our Upper El students depart for a three-day overnight trip to Camp Sea Lab in Monterey. Stanbridge has visited all of these locations in the past for experiential trips and the feedback has always been positive. We're looking forward to another exciting set of adventures this week--you can find all of the trip details and packing lists on the Files and Forms page.
High school students also have a busy week ahead. This Sunday, Sept. 15, the O'Farrell family is hosting a Back to School party for all Stanbridge high school families. Check the SPA Spot page for more information on this event. This coming Tuesday and Wednesday mornings, high school students will be taking their bi-annual math and reading assessments. Resource Specialist Diane Chau has posted information about these assessments on the Bridge Blog. Please ensure your student is prepared for these academic assessments by getting a good night's sleep the night before and by eating a healthy breakfast the morning of.
Parents and guardians, don't forget that this Tuesday, September 17 is Back to School Night. The event starts at 6:00 p.m. in the Multipurpose Room. In addition to meeting with all of your student's teachers, we will be presenting information from our Resource and Counseling departments, SPA and the Annual Fund Committee, plus details on our revamped website and QuickSchools. Back to School Night is a highly informative event and I encourage you to attend.
Finally, our website's Lectures & Workshops page has been updated with new listings of upcoming events, and the renovation of the Multipurpose Room has made headlines in the local newspaper. Details on these stories and more are posted on the Bridge Blog. Remember that we will be posting updates on our blog throughout the week, so you don't have to wait for the weekend to stay up-to-date anymore.
Hope to see you at Tuesday's Back to School Night. Until then, have a great weekend.
