We have all been eagerly awaiting our new tradition of attending NatureBridge, Yosemite and with all of the current media buzz, have been working very hard behind the scenes to ensure that our students would be safe, educated, and have a great time this coming week.
Unfortunately, NatureBridge contacted us on Wednesday to inform us that they have decided to postpone all trips between now and the beginning of October. This decision was made, quite simply, in response to impacted lodgings due to the relocation of groups that were to stay at Curry Village. Please note that this was not due to any inherent risk factors. One can imagine with the indefinite closure of Curry Village and some three-million visitors a year, just a single week could mean tens of thousands of people vying for the same space!
Our 12th-grade Fall Experiential program has been rescheduled to October 14-19, 2012.
We have already spoken with both the NatureBridge, Yosemite Director and Program Director to confirm the new dates and that the trip/activities will remain exactly the same. Additional details regarding the change--including the official statement from NatureBridge--have been sent via email to senior parents/guardians.
Thank you all so very much for your patience.
