Course Overview:
High school students use a variety of computer programs and applications to demonstrate creative thinking, construct knowledge, and develop innovative product and processing using technology. This course will focus on creating digital media presentations such as interactive research projects, animation, music and video. In addition to creating these multimedia projects, students will also learn about acceptable use policies, copyright law and responsible use of the Internet.

- Students will demonstrate creative thinking, construct knowledge, and develop innovative product and processing using technology.
- Students will use digital media and environments to communicate and work collaboratively, including at distance, to support individual learning and contribute to the learning of others.
- Students will apply digital tools to gather, evaluate, and use information.
- Creation of a music composition using Garage Band. Students demonstrate digital music composition by compiling a song using various tracks, sequencing and editing.
- Students create a short digital video using iMovie.
- Students understand and demonstrate effective use of copyright law.
- Students follow technology use guidelines and acceptable use policies.
- Students will use critical thinking skills to plan and conduct research, manage projects, solve problems, and make informed decisions using appropriate digital tools and resources.
- Students will demonstrate a sound understanding of technology concepts, systems, and operations.
Digital Photography

Core Textbooks: Mastering Digital Black and White Photography; CS4 in a Classroom
Course Overview:
For students to learn the basic knowledge needed to develop an understanding of how a camera works; how to shoot a correct exposure using basic photography techniques. Student will have basic understanding of how to create and/or manipulate photographs using CS4. Student will also develop an understanding of how organize, edit, print and present photograph(s).

- Participate and understand various photography techniques and styles that can be applied to their understanding of what they learned and developed with digital images/photographs.
- Establish a clear understanding of the philosophy of photography; such as for student to support and explain why they choose to shoot a particular composition and how it relates to them (how they give the image meaning); brainstorm new ideas and discuss/provide feedback to other students their own interpretation of, theirs and others, body of work(s).
