Transitions can be tough and exciting for everyone. Transitions from school to career for someone with learning and attention issues present a unique set of opportunities and challenges. Do you know what options are available for you when you graduate from high school and head off to postsecondary education? Do you have the information you need to know what to expect in postsecondary education? If you answered “no” or “I’m not sure” to either of these questions, this workshop is most definitely for you!
Join us for a two hour session on post-secondary options, best practices regarding IEPs and/or individualized Learning Plans and the importance of self-advocacy. Share your concerns, questions and insights with other students and parents as we work to build a better post-secondary experience for neurodivergent learners.
What do we mean by neurodivergent?Neurodiversity is the idea neurological differences that can lead to challenges in learning and socializing are natural human variations. Diagnoses such as Dyslexia, ADHD, and Autism are examples of these variations. With a deeper understanding of the differences that define all of us, learning and work environments can be designed to:
