Alerts & Updates

Stanbridge Academy's campus remains closed until further notice due to COVID-19 health and safety precautions.
We will be sharing information throughout the summer about our plans to
safely reopen our campus for the 2020–2021 school year.

Weekly divisional updates

3/20/2020

Our regularly-scheduled Evening Update from Head of School Julie Smith will be posted soon. In the meantime, here are highlights from our first week of distance learning:

Elementary
Thank you to all of the parents and families for supporting their children’s transition to online distance learning. We are all in this together and we are here to support each other. As we get more confident with the new technology, remember to disconnect and unplug on the weekend. Get out and go for a walk with your family. Spend time together playing board games, doing a puzzle, or playing cards. Continue the personal interactions that we are currently unable to have with your children. We will continue our Zoom meetings during Week Two and hope for smoother transitions. Middle and Upper Elementary are using Google Classroom and all of Elementary is using SeeSaw. Wishing you all a happy weekend.
—Danny Martin, Head of Elementary

Middle School
I want to start by thanking the parents, siblings, and other family members who have been helping Middle School students access our program this week from home. I know you are all wearing many hats right now with your own jobs, household duties, and other siblings to worry about. Our top priority is to make sure students are as calm, connected, and engaged as possible. We are eager to hear your feedback in the parent survey [coming soon] so we can continue to improve. So far, we have been extremely impressed with the level of engagement from students. They have shown resilience, maturity, and creativity taking on a completely new way of learning and living. Our entire Middle School Team wishes you all a healthy and relaxing weekend.
—Genevieve Lawrence, Head of Middle School

High School

It takes a village to achieve greatness. This has been demonstrated time and time again during our first week of distance learning. I am so impressed by the effort and positive attitude being shown by students, parents, and staff. It is clear to me that no matter what it takes, we will do all we can to adjust our instruction accordingly so that all Stanbridge High School students will be able to learn. They say every cloud has a silver lining. Our silver lining is the realization that our students are gaining knowledge and skills that will be so important for them when they join the world of work. Thank you for all your hard work this week. Enjoy the weekend, get outside, soak in the Vitamin D. “See” you next week!
—Colleen McQuade, Head of High School
