Stanbridge Observes: Women's History Month

This month, we are commemorating and encouraging the study and celebration of the vital role of women in American history. ​

​Posted around the school are boards featuring topics like: 13 Important Women You Won’t Find in Textbooks...Yet.”  highlighting some of our own students! Each of them was asked a series of questions about what they like to do, what they want to be when they grow up, and the name of their female role model. 

​Moms, you would be happy to know that many of them said their role model is you. Another board displays  drawings and quotes from 21 women in history who have had a great impact on our world. It appears that Beyonce also admires her mother. She is quoted as saying "Your mother is a woman and women like her cannot be contained."

Interesting fact: Sixty-three percent of women voted in the 2020 presidential election, compared to 59.5% of men. Women have voted at a higher rate than men in presidential elections since the 1980s. Women Power...It's Our Time!
