Welcome to Stanbridge Academy

Stanbridge Academy is a K-12 independent school in San Mateo where neurodivergent learners build academic skills, find their people and prepare for a full life after graduation.

We specialize in supporting students with dyslexia, ADHD and autism spectrum profiles. Small classes, individualized learning plans and built-in supports — including occupational therapy, speech services and licensed counselors — are woven into every school day.

Students at Stanbridge get the full-school experience: league sports, clubs, prom, field trips and a community that knows them by name.

Whether your child is in elementary school or approaching high school, Stanbridge meets them where they are and works with your family every step of the way.

Ready to learn more? Let's start with a conversation.

  • "Making sure your child's needs are met is another full time job. At Stanbridge, I drop him off and I don't have to worry about anything. The teachers are the ones who come to me, instead of us chasing the district. That is what Stanbridge gives you: peace of mind."

    Vandana, Stanbridge parent

  • "What I feel when I see her leave the car every morning is joy and relief and hope. It used to be five hugs and five minutes to separate. Now it's grab my bag, I love you, goodbye, and joyfully bounding up the stairs into school."

    Pamela D., Stanbridge Parent

  • "Stanbridge provided a safe place for Evan to be himself, all of his quirks and all of the interesting elements of his personality. He was welcomed and accepted. That built confidence in who he was."

    Rich S., Stanbridge Alumni Parent

Elementary (K-5)

Stanbridge Elementary is where neurodivergent learners discover that school can be a good place to be. Small classes, individualized instruction and daily embedded support give students the foundation they need — academically, socially and emotionally — to grow with confidence.

Middle School (6-8)

The middle school years bring new academic demands and social complexity. Stanbridge's Middle School program is built specifically for this stage, with the structure, staffing and support neurodivergent learners need to navigate it well.

Attend an Open House

Open Houses are one of the best ways to get a real sense of what Stanbridge looks like in practice. You'll have the opportunity to tour campus, meet members of our faculty and staff, hear from current families and ask questions specific to your child's profile. Email admissions@stanbridgeacademy.org to be added to the mailing list for notification of future open houses.
