What makes Stanbridge unique?

Students who learn differently and/or who struggle in traditional school environments find success at Stanbridge because we are different than most other schools.
  • Fully accredited by the California Association of Independent Schools (CAIS) and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) through June 2026
  • Small class sizes in all grades (generally 8:1 student-to-teacher ratio)
  • Development of executive functioning skills
  • Schoolwide, daily math period with cross-divisional, differentiated groupings—allows for targeted instruction
  • Comprehensive Step Up to Writing program used in all divisions
  • Experiential program features day trips and overnight excursions that are directly tied to class curriculum
  • A high school program built for postsecondary success: 75% of Stanbridge graduates enroll in a two-year or four-year college, university, or voc-tech school; others enroll in residential education programs or join the workforce
  • College prep and postsecondary transitions counseling
  • Integrated technology throughout campus; assistive technology and learning supports available to all students
  • Full-time speech and language therapist, and two licensed MFT counselors on staff
  • Weekly social learning classes and social groups
  • Physical education and arts/design courses incorporated into the curriculum for all grade levels
  • Single campus for all grades K–12 builds community among student body; allows older students to mentor youth
  • Established in 1982, our school was founded specifically for students who struggle in traditional school environments...we get kids who learn differently!

Although these differences make us unique, we still provide a well-rounded school experience. Stanbridge offers...
  • Organized, co-ed league sports such as basketball, handball, volleyball, cross-country, and more.
  • Traditional school activities such as quarterly assemblies, afterschool enrichment clubs, high school dances, prom, the all-school student talent show, student government, community service opportunities, and summer school.
  • A supportive network of parents and guardians—the Stanbridge Parents Association (SPA)—who sponsor annual events such as the Fall Book Fair, holiday parties, all-school picnics, afterschool activities, and more.
