We're starstruck! Thanks for making our first-ever Virtual Gala a success!
On Saturday, March 20, Stanbridge Academy hosted our first-ever Virtual Spring Gala, a livestream event that was broadcast across the country. Hundreds of viewers (literally, coast-to-coast) tuned in to see how our students have stayed connected during this past year of quarantines, lockdowns, and distance learning. We had fun putting it all together, and if you missed any of the livestream (or just want to see our Facilities Manager fiddling on the roof again) we've posted the video above.

Our theme for this year's gala was "Staying Connected to our Stanbridge Stars," and donor support is ensuring that all of our students will indeed keep shining bright—staying connected to academics, the arts, athletics, enrichment, and the social-emotional learning that Stanbridge Academy provides. Thanks to our current and alumni families, faculty and trustees, alumni graduates, and friends of the Stanbridge community, this year's gala raised more than $100,000 for our students and program! On behalf of our entire staff and student body, we are truly grateful for such generous support.
As you see in the video, donor support has been vital to keeping our community connected throughout the past year. Providing technology like Chromebooks and online curriculum allowed our students to pivot to distance learning at home mere days after we were forced to close our campus last March. Facility upgrades completed over the summer—including the installation of air purifiers, touchless restroom fixtures, and sanitation stations—allowed us to safely reopen our campus to elementary students in September, and bring students in our upper grades back to school for in-person learning not long after that. And despite the challenges that hybrid- and distance-learning have presented, we still found ways to come together as a connected school community—hosting virtual afterschool clubs and quarterly school dance parties; monthly Zoom parent check-ins and social hours; an online Book Fair and an interactive online College & Career Fair; airing our holiday concerts and the student talent show via YouTube; regular broadcasts from our Stanbridge Student News team; and (of course) reimagining our annual Spring Gala to be a virtual livestream this year.
In March of 2020, we celebrated our Spring Gala in person, less than a week before Covid forced us to close campus. A year later, there are signs of hope and optimism on the horizon. With many Bay Area communities starting to reopen, Stanbridge will be welcoming even more of our students back to campus this spring. We hope these positive trends continue in the months ahead, so that we can have all of our Bulldogs back on campus in the fall, and celebrate with our community in-person at our next Spring Gala (the date has already been reserved at Domenico—March 12, 2022!)
Until then, we hope you continue to Stay Connected to Stanbridge via our website, Facebook page, and our Instagram and Twitter feeds, where you will see the impact of your support every day.
