The Voting Process & 2023-2024 Student Government

5/24/2023

Candidates rigorously practiced some wonderful speeches before presenting to our Middle and High School student body. Each of the unique individuals running brought something different to the table and the hard choice of picking was left to voters to decide.

You can listen to all of the speeches in the linked video and see who you would have chosen in your student voting days but we will share the winners in this post.

Several things to note, we are incredibly proud of each of the brave individuals that came to the podium to speak in front of their peers and the faculty. They did an outstanding job of presenting themselves and all deserve a round of applause for their willingness to step up to the task.

The voting experience was created with intention to be one of authenticity. After lining up outside, students were ushered into the classroom in groups of six as the voting process was explained to them. Inside there were private voting booths for them to choose their candidates discreetly. Current Student Government reps and Staff Members were available to answer questions. Voters placed their completed ballots into the box and even received the traditional "I Voted" sticker to mark the occasion. The event prepares students for the eventual realities of how voting outside works outside of school.
