Experiential Learning

The middle school years are a time when students are figuring out who they are. Experiential learning at this level is designed to give them structured opportunities to discover that in settings beyond the classroom.

Day trips throughout the year connect directly to classroom content — visiting sites tied to history, science and humanities units while building the navigation, planning and independence skills students need for high school and beyond.

Students also work in Stanbridge's hands-on outdoor garden and science lab, bringing curriculum to life in real-world contexts throughout the school year.

Experiential learning at this stage is about more than content. It is where students practice self-regulation, collaboration and persistence in environments where the stakes are real but the support is present.
