Mission and Philosophy
Our Mission
Stanbridge Academy is a caring, inclusive K-12 school for students with mild to moderate learning differences and social communication disorders. We use an individualized, whole student approach so that students thrive and develop their academic, social and emotional capabilities to their fullest potential.
You all helped me in your own ways to change my philosophy on life after I came here to see that there was more to life than suffering and that happiness can be found.
Stanbridge Student
Our Philosophy
Stanbridge students arrive with a wide range of learning and social profiles. What they share is a need for an environment that is genuinely built around them.
Every student benefits from small class sizes, differentiated instruction and explicit teaching of executive functioning and social communication skills. Our 8:1 student-to-teacher ratio gives faculty the time and proximity to understand how each student learns and to adjust accordingly.
Support is woven into the full school experience: integrated experiential learning, comprehensive electives, extracurricular activities and transition planning that begins in middle school and continues through graduation. We want every Stanbridge student to have access to the kind of school experience that neurodivergent learners too often miss elsewhere.
Our faculty and staff are skilled at helping students understand their own learning profiles and develop the self-advocacy skills they will carry beyond Stanbridge. Academic growth and personal growth are pursued together, within a school community grounded in responsibility, respect, inclusion and compassion.
If your child is not yet finding success in their current school, I want you to know there is hope — and we would love to be part of your family's story. I invite you to explore our website, schedule a personal tour of our campus, or join us at an upcoming Open House. The right environment makes all the difference. I look forward to showing you what that looks like at Stanbridge.
